I am Kevin Doherty

I come from a background in technology and IT, A business investor, turnaround specialist, growth expert and family man.
I have always had a passion for seeing businesses and its people grow, it is what I love to do.

My purpose is to help small business in an ethical and structured manner. And the way I go about this is to have a thoughtful and respectful approach to each situation, to ensure that we will have, at its heart, the continued health and prosperity of the organisation.

A strategic plan will be central to the approach. It will focus everyone on improving the profit margins and enhancing the customer proposition. To do this together, we will understand where the business is now and where it is planning to be in the future.
I have constantly believed that a challenge always creates an opportunity.

The shape of what I do, is nicely illustrated below. These are the skills you can expect from me:

1. Financial excellence: improve cash flow, increase profitability, and remove excess costs
2. Reviewing and improving operational processes; to ensure your systems support today’s business activities but are scalable to give you growth
3. Sales and marketing activities; understanding what your USP really is and match it against what the customer wants. Also, to structure and support the sales team with a strong focus and measurement on activity, pipeline, and forecasting
4. Inclusion of all the above to create an ‘accountable’ culture; build a 30, 60, 90, 365-day plan for growth aligned to an aggressive, but achievable budget that targets both profit and revenue growth

When selecting investment opportunities, I look for established companies that are either trading profitably or in a turnaround situation; either because the owner is ready to retire from the business or because their situation has become unmanageable.
Sometimes all a business needs is a fresh pair of eyes, someone who can see things from a different perspective and can implement change; whether that is updating technology, streamlining processes or renegotiating creditor agreements.
